MacBook won’t start after battery change

I changed the battery using ifixit’s repair kit. Following the repair, the MacBook briefly shows the battery symbol with 100% charge (if plugged into an outlet) but then switches off immediately. I am unable to get it to actually boot up. Nothing happens when I press and/or hold the power button on the keyboard.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I went back in and forgot to attach the ribbon to the power switch. It was tucked under the circuit board. Fortunately, you can fish it out without removing the circuit board. Maybe the same thing happened? Good luck!
