My iPod is stuck on hold or lock and I've tried reset, restore, everything and its still stuck on hold. My iPod still recognize my computer and turns on when i charge it but it i cant navigate or use it when its on lock. I just barely passed my warranty which on screwed i have to fix this myself. How do I replace or fix the hold problem?

try opening it slightly (pry off the top cap) and check the hold switch assembly, if it still doesn't work, lift the switch off, and snip the wire, though you won't be able to put in on hold until you replace the entire cable, and switch. On my iPod video, the hold cable is severed, and it won't lock, so your iPod should do the same.

I was JUST about to purchase a shuffle then stumbled upon this for my nano 2nd gen. Just popped the top with a pushpin and ripped out the orange base of the locking unit and it unlocked. Felt pretty %#*@ good to just rip that effer out instead of gracefully snipping it. Huzzah. Thank you post from 7+ years ago.

Hey 👋 so I am trying to use my iPod nano and I had the same issue where it was stuck on hold. I pulled off the top and took out the silver piece with the red switch in it but my iPod nano is still on hold and has the lock symbol. Does anyone know what I can do to unlock it? I really just want to see what was on it.
