This is a spring with 2 small mounting holes with a slotted end.

Without an image it will be difficult to identify it and where it belongs, if indeed it does belong in the laptop.
Here’s a link to the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.
It doesn’t mention or show the spring in the parts section as a separate part so maybe you’re right and it doesn’t belong in there.

No picture. the two mounting holes appear to from a pressed mounting. It has sight hump with the slot at the other end.
