Why does it do this?

My iPod boots up displays with the Apple display before continuing by displaying a screen with a link to Apple support or the Apple logo during this it makes a wering noise that gets louder then cuts off and then repeats eventually it reaches the home screen however once u reach a song and click play the noise comes back and the song doesn’t play
