How do I stop the timer from notifying me every minute

I have a new blu vivo 5l, and I set the timer the first time for 20 minutes. It then notified me over the top of any app at 19 minutes. And 18 minutes. 17…and so on. How do I stop this obnoxious behavior? I want the timer to tell me when time is up…not every minute that has passsed.
