My S7 is stuck at the Google verification step

My S7 Edge, which I have owned since new, is stuck at the Google verification step. I enter my account , then verify it on my other phone, then it simply goes back to the previous step.

I cannot reset the phone in order to give it to my daughter! Thanks Google!!

Some help would be appreciated, thank you.

Hi @ebow3d ,

Can you sign in to your Google account from a web browser in a computer etc without using 2 step verification?

If so turn off 2 step verification and then try it from the phone

Or if you can sign in OK using a computer, you could try deleting the phone from the Google account entirely and then try to setup the phone again.

Not sure if you may have to hard reset it again though before starting setup.

Here’s how:

Open a browser window (Google browser?) and sign in to your Google "Account" using the link on the page.

Once into the account type "devices" (without the inverted commas) into the search box at the top of the page and select Devices Security and check if the device is still listed.

If it is click on the 3 vertical dots icon in the desired device and select sign out to remove the device from the account.

If you don't want or need the account anymore then here's how to delete it.

Try and see if it works

2 Step verification is off and I have removed the phone from my Google account long ago. No Luck.

Hi @ebow3d ,

If a hard reset didn't work then you may have to re-install the firmware in the phone to bring it back to a factory default condition.
