Controller getting hot on left back side despite repair attempts

Hi guys,

I believe this controller was used with a fast charger and damage occurred. I don’t know for certain as it’s not mine.

Initially it refused to charge. So I replaced the charging port. It would then charge and hold *some* charge. However, even when not in use — the charge would drain.

So I replaced the battery. It then held charge and charged, but it still gets incredibly hot around the battery connection area.

I’m not really sure where to go from here beyond throwing it away.

I can see the solder has been damaged here, but both analog sticks still work. So I’m assuming it was the heat that did it.

There is also the possibility that it’s the wrong battery. I know this is one of the controllers without the light bar, so I got the KCR1410 — however I took out the LIPI522. I just don’t want to buy *another* battery replacement if that’s not going to fix the issue.
