Laptop doesn’t boot makes clicking sound and then repeats
Laptop makes a click or spark sound around the CMOS battery area
17 inch HP Pavilion with i5 4th gen processor
Recently replaced my HDD to an SSD and when I went to test out the SSD I accidentally picked up the laptop to turn it around and forgot about the rechargeable battery which immediately turned off the computer.
I tried rebooting the computer again and it just turns on all lights with fan running and then few seconds later turns off and hearing a click sound that happens when you hard power it off (holding down the power button) and then repeats
What I tried already was resetting the power multiple times and also connecting with only AC adapter to no avail.

James Chen exactly what happened when you "forgot about the rechargeable battery" and turned your laptop over?

@oldturkey03 what I mean by that was when I picked up the laptop to turn it around the rechargeable battery came out of its battery contact pins and the computer completely turned off

Yes, that is what I thought. Have you checked the connectors/cables and traces to make sure that nothing came loose or got pulled off?
