Screen is busted. Do I need the digitizer and the glass?

I have a moto G7 that was dropped on ice and the screen broke. Do i need to replace both the glass and digitizer?

Jason Martin  unless you have the tools and the skills to separate the fused components as well as the tools to readhere the components, you want to replace the complete display assembly.

Thanks i am confident in doing the replacement of components but am not sure about separating and re fusing so i bought a complete assembly and will just replace the whole assembly as advised. Thanks for the quick clarifying response.
