MacBook Air lcd screen has an unusual distortion.

The MacBook (pictured above) has had three stages of damage to the top right of the screen.

First about three months ago there was minimal damage, distorting only the search bar. Following this, about two weeks ago was a larger extension of this damage - the crack spread as pictured in the top image- effecting most of the top quarter of the screen. Finally after coming home from holiday and not using it for a week the screen now has partially fixed itself - the top right corner now unaffected - unless pressure is applied to the bezel just above it.

None of these changes have seemed to be from my use or misuse of the machine such as dropping it but rather seem to just appear overnight.

Unique damage features - this started off as a very smooth crack which then curled up at one end of the screen without the usual distortion of lcd. Part of the search bar distortion changes depending on what is on screen below it. The top right of the screen is visible but there is damage all around it.

I’m not very tech-literate but I first assumed this was just a simple cracked lcd

Now returning from holiday and having part of the top right of the screen again visible and changing bars dependent on pressure makes me doubt this diagnosis and gives me hope it may be fixable. Hence I have come here.

Any answers from anyone who’s seen Mac screens or lcd screens in general with similar issues or knows what is causing this (it may just be a simple crack) or If it’s easily fixable would be appreciated greatly.

(And I’m happy to follow up with more details if it would help)
