Front glass replacement for iPad mini 2 made of plastic?

I bought a replacement for the front glass of my iPad mini 2, and received a plastic part. Is this normal? In other cases on this forum there are answers assuring the clients that the parts are as the originals!

Never seen an iPad plastic digitizer replacement. How did you determine it's plastic ? Have you contacted seller and expressed your doubts ?

It feels as plastic, sounds as plastic tapping it and it is flexible, which I don't believe it would be, if it was glass.

Does it feel lighter than the original screen?

Hard to say, since I did not remove the original yet because it is shattered.

That’s what I figured from your question, it “feels” like plastic, it’s lightweight and it’s flexible, thus it “must” be plastic. Of course a digitizer glass cannot be just 100% glass even if most part of it, it is indeed. Infact it’s a sandwich of different layers and materials with on top typically a protective film. You were right. It was as the original, although I only figured that out after removing the old digitizer.
