Is third party battery replacement going to affect my battery app?

I purchased a third party battery for my iPhone 6S Plus before the update that has affected the battery app from working properly or giving a warning. My question is, is my iPhone 6S Plus affected by this update, and if it is, is there a workaround, or should I just purchase a battery from Apple? I’ve always been one to do things right the first time, or just buy the best the first time, but with this phone being so old, I thought…maybe I should buy third party, and here I am:), back to why I have my philosophy, lol.

Battery percentage should be available irrespectively. Other data reported depends on battery logic, thus on supplier. If that’s important for you it would be advisable to ask for confirmation before purchase, whatever iOs version you’re using. It doesn’t seem iOs 13 triggered any additional malfunctioning/scary warning as far as I know, except on latest models relying on batteries including the Texas Instr. IC.

Thank you! I wasn't sure given Apple's crazy alleged "security features," most of which are designed to prohibit us from repairing anything ourselves, lol.

I'm done with them. In fact if they'll allow me, I have an editorial piece on a recent experience with purchasing an iMac less than a year ago which is literally outdated already. I'm going to ask to post it on ifxit. I think people should know this about them.

@kevbasscat I hear you, it's getting more and more common for people into repairs watching incredulous faces when trying to explain the loss of this or that feature and the intricacies of trying to fix Apple devices. The "Uh" and the "Oh" faces should be filmed and sent to their headquarters, maybe they would realize how this is starting to getting ridiculous.

Good thing is that people who come to their trusted Tech know already whom they want to support =;)
