Black screen at start and fan like crazy!

Block Image

. Hi guys,

Is there anyone who can tell me what to replace or what to do with my MacBook Air 11” which you can turn on and after not even 5 min the screen goes black and the cooling system starts off very loud.

I went to the Apple Store and they said to replace the logic board… But as you know it is very expensive part.

Is there a cheaper solution to fix or do?

Thanks in advance!!

I will attach a pic the last time The laptop lasted on more than 3 min

Apple is probably right in this case and you need a board replacement indeed, description points to a board issue. The good news is that the logic boards for that MBA are not expensive anymore, on the contrary, they would cost less than fixing your old one. If you do it yourself, nothing comes cheaper than that:

@photogreewod You'd have to stick to boards for the A1370 model. I don't know much of the 11.6" i5 boards, but if they're as troublesome as their 13" counterparts, it would be an upgrade I would not recommend. On top of that, the price for the board I linked is rockbottom for a working board and you won't find anything close to that if you look for an upgrade.

Hi and again thank you for your answer.

I finally managed to open my laptop (i had no screwdrivers) so i will attach a pic on the first post for what i think it could be an issue and i am absolutely not an expert... but i think and i dont know if you can properly see it from the pic there is something wrong on the circuits on the I/O board... what do you think?? Thank you again for support!
