Leaking gasket on Cuisinart CPK-17

The silicone seal that the temperature probe fits in is torn on my CBK-17 Cuisinart kettle. Does anyone have a source for a replacement?

I contacted Cuisinart for a replacement seal, and they said they do not sell or carry internal parts, and offered me a 20% discount on a new one. What a disappointment!

Is this kind of seal fixable?

Hi @maryorton

Perhaps you may be able to make your own new seal or repair the existing seal, using either this or this product. (supplier examples only)

The first product has a max temp rating of 400°F which I think should suffice for most electric kettles given that the boiling point of water is 212°F

The best that I can find out for the second product is it has a max temp rating of 356°F but I'm not totally sure.

Maybe worth a try.
