remotly remove icloud and find my iPhone

Hi,

I have brought a iphone 8, it had a damaged screen so the seller could not remove the icloud. i am in contact with them and they have said they have done it remotely and the phone will be removed next time it connects to wifi. the phone still has there passcode on it so i cant enter settings to connect to my wifi. if i reinstall the ios will it then go back to the start or will it have the icloud activation lock?

If the “find my iPhone” has been remotely removed all you have to do is to put it into restore mode and do a clean install. The iPhone should then be normally activated and ready for a new account setup.
