Does this Mac boot if you disconnect the trackpad?

I’m trying to diagnose a liquid damaged Macbook Pro 13” TB 2017. I found minor corrosion on the trackpad, and disconnecting the trackpad allows the Mac to turn on: its fans spin, but nothing else happens. The screen stays black. After a while the fans run on max, because of course it can’t find the temp sensor in the trackpad.

Before I order a replacement trackpad, I want to know if the Mac not booting is a symptom of further liquid damage, or if no 2017 Macbook Pro boots if the trackpad cable is disconnected. Does anybody know? Thanks
