Originally released in 2006, the NeatDesk is a desktop document scanner with ADF and full-duplex features. The early revision has model number "ADF-070108" and the newer revision is model "ND-1000."

Why does it Scanning slow?

It was scanning at a fast pace and now it scans really slow.  Does anyone know how to fix this?  What should I be checking?   I have cleaned it thinking it might be dust but nothing.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi @nani11 ,

Does it do this when using the scanner's button controls, the Neat scanner software in a computer connected to the scanner or both?

Hi @nani11 ,

Is the scanner connected to a computer?

If so try re-calibrating the scanner and check if this resolves the problem.

Here’s a link to the section in the manual (is this your model?) that shows how to calibrate the scanner. Scroll down to “Calibrate your scanner” and then click on the Next page link to view the process.

Here’s a link that shows how to add media to your question on ifixit.

Hi @nani11 ,

Can you try scanning from a computer to see if it is still slow or not?

Just wondering if you can maybe change the dpi settings for a scan using a computer which maybe you can't when using the scanner controls, to see if this makes a difference in scan speed or not.

Usually the higher the dpi the longer it takes to scan as it produces a more detailed scan.

If it makes no difference it could be a drive motor problem in the scanner
