No Power, No Fan Spin after Battery Replacement

I replaced the battery on my Surface Pro 4 the other day. Now I’m seeing no fan spin on power up and no ‘Surface’ logo on boot up.

Am I missing a crucial step in reinstallation? Is this a common occurrence? What do I do?

I’ve got the same problem. Did you find a solution for it in the meantime?

Sadly, no. I resorted to buying a newer Surface Pro 5. However, before trashing my Surface Pro 4, I ripped out the SSD card, bought an adapter to USB for it, and dumped all my info on a back up external drive.

Here’s the Amazon link to the adapter. QNINE NVME to USB Adapter, M.2... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JKWHFRC?ref...

The SSD is BitLocker encrypted. If you registered your Surface, the encryption key is in your Microsoft account. Use that to access your old SSD to back up everything to another drive.

I know this isn’t a fix, but I hope this helps you out.

For what it’s worth, I found this site that seems to have a possible solution. I just replaced a bloated battery pack in mine and get no reaction to the power button. I checked my 3.3v rail and only was getting about 270mv so I ordered a 5 pack of the ITE chips off of aliexpress a few minutes ago to try out. If it fixes it, I will update, but it’ll be a few weeks.

PS: I know this is over a year after the initial post. Just trying to put it out there for future searchers.

did you fix the device?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

i have tried that, but soldering and reballing a bga chip is really really hard. you can't check if solder is good, because it's under the chip. and you have to buy a $60 thermo controlled hot air gun

i tried and failed. got really frustrated with this machine.
