Loose green wire inside cavity

Block Image

Kenmore Elite microwave 72186013010. Green wire comes into microwave cavity in the back, upper right hand corner. I assume it just needs to be put back on the screw behind it? Couldn’t find any images online to confirm. Have never seen a wire that grounded inside an oven cavity before. Oven works fine.

Hi @d2mgh0 ,

The safer option would be to trace where the wire goes to try and work out what it is for rather than assume that it is an earth connection.

Has it always been like this?

Is the screw loose so that the wire could have become free?

Are there still remnants of wire under the screw head indicating that it may have broken free?

I found Green wires on the following parts:

but 70% of the parts had no pictures.
