refridgerator not cooling still
Have a Kenmore Elite 795.74015.411
repair guy came replaced ice maker, fan motor, defrost sensor, control board, door switch
said it was all working this was yesterday and waited 3 weeks for parts
re set the temp on freezer to 1 fridge to 34 looked ok
now today still no cooling and the RF error code is now on. But the fan and control board were replaced ?? he just came and said now it must need Freon
is that even possible, that with all new parts replaced any ideas besides find a new repairman as to what else could be wrong ???
luckily this was all done under a home warranty, so I have only paid $75
but about $200 in ice over the last 3 weeks
any help is appreciated

Maybe he didn't close one or more canalisations screws well, or he didn't put some Teflon tape roll or other special tape to prevent gas from escaping.

Hey Chris. Could it need freon in addition to other repairs? Well sure it could. But "it must need freon" coming from a refrigerator repairman sounds odd. They are equipped to test the pressure and determine if the pressure is correct or not. I would've expected a definitive statement on this aspect.
I'm also trying to imagine what symptoms led a repairman to go off in all these directions AND actually find all these things needing replacing. Maybe it's just me but the whole thing just sounds kind of strange. One would have to know a little more background info, I guess.
If I follow my instincts here, I'd say you may want to consider replacing the repairman, next.

Tony,
you are correct about get a new repair man. My original complaint was ice maker not working, and no cooling in fridge or freezer. The home warranty company sent a second guy from another appliance company to check things out.
I gave him the list of all the parts replaced. Took him 15 min to figure out it had a bad compressor, which apparently is very common in the newer Kenmore units. He thought that probably nothing but the ice maker needed to be replaced. They ordered a new compressor and finally its supposed to be here this Thursday to be installed. Luckily all of this only cost me the one time $75 service call fee, but the $250 of ice for 8 weeks is killing me. In fact gotta go get a bag right now if I want a cocktail...and I do

Hey chris. That's a lot of ice. Never once thought of having to include an ice expense in a budget. Anyway, sounds like you're on your way to being ice independent again, soon. And that's a good deal on swapping out the compressor, too. Enjoy that cocktail, friend.
