The JBL Charge 3 can be recognized by its distinct woven speaker cover and rubber accents. It was released in 2016 and features a fully waterproof design, 20 hours of playback time, and bluetooth connectivity.

What is making it have a crackling noise? Can it be easily repaired?

I accidentally ran over my JBL charge 3 when I stupidly left it on the top of my car when I was in a hurry, cosmetically it's fine , still plays music & charges but it's making a kind of crackling noise within the speaker. I don't believe it to be the 2 side speakers I think it's one of the enternal speakers. Only does it when the bass really hits…can I fix it myself? Or is it just permanently ruined?

Hi,

If your JBL speaker produces distorted sound, see the JBL Charge 3 Sounds Distorted problem page for possible problems and solutions.

You’ll have to open the speaker and check for any obvious damage or if none evident turn on the speaker and listen from where the problem sound is occurring to try and narrow it down.

Here’s a link to the ifixit JBL Charge 3 guides, which should be of some help in gaining access to the internal components.

If you’ve located the problem and still need more help, take some close pictures of the problem area and post them back here.

Here’s how to do this.
