Changing the flex cable for volume button?
Had someone ask about the flex cable for the Volume button. Would this require the entire board to come out for repair?
Our thinking is the front/rear cam and battery.

In this video they tear the phone down. The volume flex is on the mid frame. So,sadly, yes it does require the battery and logic board to come out. It’s a lengthy repair. If you guys attempt this,be ABSOLUTELY sure to keep track of the screws and their holes. Long screw damage is something many repair shops have happen(not saying it will to you. I’m just trying to give you a heads up).
But it requires practically the whole phone to be completely disassembled. Then you have to replace the battery adhesive tabs too.

Thank you so much, YES LSD is very real. I've not had it happen to me, but being careful is what helps that! Mobile Sentrix sells a 'pad' with holes(in shape of iPhone) that allows you to insert every single screw for iPhones. I use that 'pad' whenever I do full breakdowns, easier than a magnetic mat.
Thank you for your answer!
What exactly is the issue with the button? They don't always need a new flex to be fixed.

This was just a question we had between shops for the amount to be charged for flex cables and wireless pads. Your very right though, isopropyl alcohol can clear up this issue too
What’s wrong if volume up & silent mode switch won’t work
