How can I upgrade my MBP, Model A1286?

I have a 15” MacBook Pro, Mid 2009, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB memory.

I would like to keep it happy and working like it always has. Can’t seem to find the model number on iFixit.
