Larger version of the Nintendo DSi, released March 2010 in North America. Most repairs are accomplished with only a screwdriver and prying tools.

DSi shuts off when lower screen is pressed or bumped

So I have recently found my old DSi XL. It is in good condition and the battery is still good. It holds a charge and turns on fine, but whenever the lower screen is pressed slightly hard or you close the DS it will shut off making games unplayable without being gentle. I’m wondering what my best course of action would be to attempt to fix it. Thanks!

Heya- I just rediscovered my DSI as well and had this happen!

Looking at the bottom of the console, the battery seems to have bulged after the years of neglect- Maybe have a start there?
