Touch screen not working after display replacement

I’ve cracked my watches and when it was broken the touch screen didn’t work so i thought when i buy a new screen, the touch screen should work, but it didn’t.The display normally work, just that touch don't work. I have some spare broken screens and they also don’t work. Tried to change battery and no success. all the ribbon cables look untouched without any problem. Pretty clueless now

I'm a little confused; you seem to be using "screen" and "digitizer" interchangeably.

"I’ve cracked my watches..."

Does this mean you cracked the digitizer, the screen, or both?

"...and when it was broken the touch screen didn’t work..."

Does this mean the digitizer, screen, or both didn't work?

"...so i thought when i buy a new screen..."

Does this mean you bought a new screen (meaning your original screen was broken but the digitizer somehow wasn't)?

"...the touch screen should work, but it didn’t."

Again, does this mean the digitizer, screen, or both didn't work?

"The display normally work, just that touch don't work."

I take this to mean the screen was working but the digitizer wasn't?

"I have some spare broken screens and they also don’t work."

Once again, does this mean the digitizer, screen, or both didn't work?

Hey Steve, thanks for your reply.

by screen i mean the whole screen(display maybe the better word?) when you open the watch, but i guess the screen is good but just the digitizer is cracked.

The new display I bought was a new digitizer with screen(whole display) if you were asking for this. The screen was working properly(It was able to show apple logo, main screen etc.), everything worked perfectly except that touch screen

Im an amateur so I dont think i would be able to seperate digitizer from screen.

All my spare broken displays are broken digitizer with working screen, which touch screen works perfectly on other apple watches. I'm thinking that the lcd flex cable might be faulty, but i don't see any tear or any signs that it could be bad.

Thanks for the clarification; that helps a lot. For further clarity, let's use "display assembly" to encompass the LCD+digitizer combination. :-)

You need to find out if the problem lies with your new display or with your watch. You say you have a new display assembly. Let's start out by making sure this display assembly works properly. If you connect it to any/all of your damaged Apple watches, does it work (screen and touch) with any/all of them?

Hey, Sorry for very late comment. I was busy doing other stuff.

I dont know why but after a few days I've tried to connect that new display assembly and everything worked perfectly, Digitizer worked, LCD worked also perfectly. I have totally no idea why it was, maybe i didnt connect the flex cable all the way in?

But now i have a new problem :( everytime when i try to setup apple watches it wants to be updated and activated. But after a while it says Activation Error (Activation could not be completed. Please restore the phone and install the latest version of iOS and attempt activation again and so on) My iPhone 6S is up to date 12.1.4 , I have even tried with iPhone 8 also with newest software and no success. I've read that if I try to connect right ribbon (the one for GPS and NFC) to the old display and other two ribbon to new display it should work, but also no success here. Any ideas would be appreciated
