2.5 SSD or 3.5 SSD?

I want to upgrade my internal hard drive of my 17" Intel iMac 2006, but I don't know if I should go with a 2.5 or 3.5?

Will a 2.5 SSD fit?

With a little "McGyver" you can fit a 2,5" SATA disk or SSD. The 3,5" to 2,5" reduction frames hold the HD smack in the middle of the frame. Normally the cabels are too short, then. But you could build your own frame or even use double sided tape. I'm doing this job to my own iMac tonight, because the 3,5" drive fittet now is too noisy.

I used a Newer Tech AdaptaDrive 3.5"–2.5" adapter to mount a 2.5" SSD in my early 2008 iMac. It worked flawlessly.
