Can I put an m.2 NVMe ssd in the SATA 3 m.2 slot?

I am wondering if I can put a 2TB Samsung 970 evo m.2 ssd in the SATA 3 m.2 ssd slot. If this is possible, would I get NVMe speeds or not?

No, there’s a reason your slot says “SATA III” and not “NVMe”. NVMe don’t use SATA connectors at all, they use PCIe lanes. Putting an NVMe drive in a SATA slot just simply won’t work. You’ll need to use something like the 860 Evo which maxes out at around 550 MB/sec.
