What typpe of connection are you using between the DVD player and the TV, HDMI, Component video etc?

Have you tried a different input?

have you tried a different signal type, use Component instead of HDMI?

have you tried it with another TV if possible?

Does the TV show a picture when used as a TV?

What is the make and model number of the DVD player?

What else have you tried?
