Black Hole Hole Repair

Hey all, I’ve got one of the large Patagonia Black Hole Duffels and there’s a small puncture in it. What would be the best way to patch it up?

Thanks!

A tear that long might best be covered with a patch. The iron on type might be best. Looked in my patch box and I always liked this one but your tastes may vary ;-)

Of course one with a backing would be even better:

If the hole is small enough, you can buy a kit that has a patch you can put over the hole, that should do it. If possible, could you post some pictures of the hole? Adding images to an existing question

Added a photo, it's only about a centimeter long so a simple patch would probably do it. Just wondering what kind would be best to maintain the water resistance of the bag. Though I suppose that might be on the product description already.

Having had a similar hole in a backpack once, I found that transparent repair patches for air mattresses work best, and are hardly visible in the end. They are waterproof and self-adhesive. Cut out two patches of the same size, ideally in a round shape or at least with rounded edges to avoid tearing them off by accident. Draw the edges of the hole together a bit and fasten the first patch from the inside of the bag. Then turn the bag around and fasten the second patch from the outside. Like this, the hole is completely waterproof once again, and the edges are protected from tearing any further.
