Testing a Surface Pro 3 battery that has been removed.

How do I use a volt meter to check the battery ? It is disconnected from the motherboard but there are no obvious pos and neg points. The cable appears to split internally in to 2 halfs.

Hi John,

I am hypothesizing that the two halves are the main positive and negative terminals. Which one's positive, I'm not sure but it will just show up as negative voltage on your meter if swapped. I'm guessing the small traces near one split is either for sensing or individual cell charging.

BE CAREFUL not to short the battery with your leads!
