Lighting jack is not working

My iPad Air 2 is not charging. I’ve tried restarting the device, cleaning out the lighting port, changing cords, chargers, and wall outlets to no avail. I was looking for other ideas as tot he cause, or for a replacement part to replace the defective part.

Unfortunately, your port may be defective. It is soldered to the Logic Board and would require micro-soldering to be replaced. If you want to repair it, it may be cheaper to take it to Apple, as micro-soldering can be very expensive.

You can buy a replacement charging dock voor the ipad air 2 it isnt that hard to repair no soldering needed , buy one with flex cable.

The charging port flex assembly is connected via soldering to the logic board. So it will require soldering to replace that charging port.

Good video on how it's done here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdyIQYrO...

Alec and Ben , sorry you are right. For the normal ipad 2 it is easier and with a flex cable.
