Black foil on OLED display damaged

As my top glass on the Apple Watch 3 broke, I ordered a new digitizer. When I removed the glass from the display, I damaged a black foil on the OLED display at the edges. The display is still working, but there are bright areas, where the foil is missing. What kind of foil is on the display? Can I replace it? Where to buy?

Update (01/06/2019)

The display looks like this now (glass removed, dark foil damaged):

Its polarizer film. And for the apple watch it is very dark in contrast. Done plenty using the warming burner on my stove with laptop tape. Perfect removal everytime. I would suggest using Samsung's polarizer sheet as a replacement. Trim to fit and use loca glue to attach and loca for

While I know you don’t want to hear it… I would just replace the full display assembly Apple Watch (38 mm Series 2) Screen or Apple Watch (42 mm Series 2) Screen

I have a series 3 watch. As the OLED display is still working (also in the areas, where the foil is missing), why should I buy a complete new display? If I can replace the black foil (is it a polarizer?), it will work again. If I can‘t replace the dark foil, I will glue the display to the new digitizer as it is. There will just be some brighter areas, where the foil is missing. Most important is, that the watch is working again as it is useless without the touchscreen.

I've never succeeded in repairing the screen.

Which is why I don't even try any more and just replace the full assembly.

I have the same problem. Did you find the foil?

When the you removed black film, did you damage the gold foil in-between the polarizing film and LED display?

Hey, I damaged the Gold foil and wanted to ask for what exactly it is for because my touch is still working in the areas where I do have black foil.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Its the force touch ring. If you're on watchOS 7, don't worry about it. Apple removed the feature.
