X on battery icon. Only works when plugged in.

I replaced the battery in my MacBook Air with an ifixit kit in July. Turned it on today and the system settings tell me that there is no battery installed. Tried the cmd-shift-option-power reset to no help. As soon as I remove from wall power the computer turns off immediately. Is this a bad battery?

From the other answers I’ve seen around with here, it’s most likely you got a bad battery and will have to contact iFixit.
