Replaced inlet valve. Still will not run water in the machine.

Replaced inlet valve on washing machine. Still will not fill with water. What else could be the issue?

Hi,

What is the full model number of the washing machine?

Have you checked that the lid switch is OK to make sure that the machine can start the cycle?

Does it do this on both hot and cold water temperature wash cycles or only on one?

If only on one, cold or hot, try swapping the hoses over from the water supply outlet to the machine to check if the problem stays or moves with the hose.

Is there sufficient water pressure from the water supply?

Does the machine try to start agitating without any water?

If so the water level switch may be faulty.

Sounds like a control board failure to me. Maybe a door lock issue? Don't know how much of what kind of diagnosis happened to motivate a water inlet valve change. I would have definitely done some voltage testing first. Neither of the two are cheap, I suppose a valve was cheaper than the control. Bad guess, better do some troubleshooting before throwing more good money into the pit! No joke, these things are just like cars and boats.
