iPod not working. Water damage

My ipod went thru the washer and dryer. Will replacing the battery make it work again? If not, is there any way to recover the music on the device?

In short answer, no. What’s most likely happened is the water has damaged components on the motherboard of the iPod. There are services that will unsolder the storage chip and read it to get your songs off, I mean you could try it if you are super good with a soldering iron and got the parts to do it.

In summary, water damaged motherboards are a super pain to get files off
