Home Button Making Very Loud Clicks

Hi,

Whenever I click my home button, it makes a very loud sound and heavy feeling. Is there a way to fix this back to the original and easy click? The home button still works fine. I have not tampered with the home button or ever opened up the phone. It is in good condition and touch id still works.

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Will touch id still be intact if i do this fix?

As long as there is no torn flexes and home key itself doesn't get changed then touch id will still be there.

My suggestion was to just remove clean and refit.

Cheers

Idd Start by opening the screen up to see if you have any dirt clogging it up.

it could also be the bracket that holds the home key that has come loose.

This link will show you how to get to it.

I FOUND THEE ANSWER! i have the same problem so i opened up the screen of my iphone 8+ and saw that the only reason every time i click the home button its making loud noises is because 1 dirt was in my phone so i cleaned in(brushed it off or blew on it) and then saw a screw was very loose so i tightened just a bit but not too tight and bam went back to normal!! tada!

honestly based on the answers it might depend how serious the situation was, i was gonna tighten the screw like what one of the answers suggested but they seemed pretty tightened so big brain play here, i powered off and powered back on my phone. Tada!?
