MacBook not powering on with new trackpad flex cable...

Hi y’all, I have a a1534 I’m working on in the shop and while taking the back panel off, the panel slipped out of my fingers and the flex cable to the trackpad ripped in half. We ordered a new flex cable via amazon and when we put the flex cable in, the macbook doesn’t power on but when we leave the flex cable disconnected the macbook powers on normally, we just can’t use the trackpad and keyboard. :-( Were at a loss at the shop, does anyone have any ideas for what were suppose to do to fix this issue?

We tried a new trackpad cable and were still getting the same results. We think there *might* be board level damage. Does anyone have any ideas on how to proceed from here? I’m trying to avoid buying the customer a new macbook.

Are you 100% sure this cable is known-working? I would at least try another cable to be 110% sure it is not the trackpad cable causing this issue.
