LCD burnout sign after kept for a few months MBP early 2011

Block Image

I had a MBP 15” early2011 with a failed GPU just this year and I kept the MBP in the drawer for 2mth,

recently I read on ifix it about there a step to disable the gpu and force to run on the intel building display and once I try to power up the MBP and notice this happen the display turned into such smear pattern and it’s inside the LCD not outside.

Anyone happen to have such issue before? And any solution on this? If the display can be save I might get a 2012 mid logic board and replace the defect 2011 early board.

I notice the burnout mark on the mbp LCD only. My mbp had a failed gpu I got blue screen with stripe after the gray screen. But the burnout mark remain even during blue screen. This happen after I keep the mbp under my drawer for 2mth since the gpu failed.

ngwenyuann those do not look like any kind of burn in. Those look like pressure marks. I would suggest to try and disassemble the actual panel and see if you can make out any damage to the diffuser sheets. If you can’t then I suggest a different display.MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Early 2011 Display Replacement

Thanks for the information. It cost too much to replace the display and a logic board together. I just doesn’t understand why there are pressure mark on the display as I never place anything on the lid and I’ve check the lid doesn’t have any dent also. But anyway it’s pity to see it goes.
