sweetpeat23  could be a power supply issue, a T-con board issue as well as a main board or panel issue. You will have to do some preliminary checks. Turn the TV on and make sure that you have an audio. In a darkened room, point a flashlight beam at an angle against the screen. See if you can make out silhouettes etc. If so, it’s your backlight. Time to check the main board and the power board. If those are okay, it’s your backlight array. If nothing shows, check to see if you have an onboard meny displaying. If so then it is your T-con board. If nothing shows it could be your main board.

As you see, there are plenty of things to check. It is not always a clear cut situation. I suggest that you post a picture of all of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. You will need at least a multimeter to check fursther.

Go to www.Shopjimmy.com

They have parts, videos, and test equipment for most brand flat screen TV/Monitors.

My LG 40" Television had the same symptoms.

No picture, but sound.

Did the flash light test, and that showed that the LCD was working.

In my case the LED Strips for the back lighting had burned out.

Thus, I ordered a replacement set of LED Strips from Shopjimmy.

Watched the disassembly video for my model TV.

Then when I got the parts in, I was able to do the repair within about 2-3 hours.

I needed to get some suction cups from Harbor Freight, for handling the LCD Screen.

Some Tar/Bug/Glue remover to get the sticky stuff off, where the old burned LED Strips had been attached.

So, I spent about $70 in total for the repair.
