It is entirely possible that this is a battery issue. I would replace it and then re-evaluate. You will at least have a known-well starting point should further troubleshooting become necessary

I think that replacing the battery would be a great start point. I have provided a link to a replacement battery if you need to buy one and I have also included a guide on how to replace the battery.
