Why is the sound cutting out?

Two years ago we added a Bose sound bar to our already existing portable sound touch 412540. For over a year it worked fine. The reoccurring issue now (and for at least 6 months), is that the sound cuts in and out. Even if I choose to listen to only 1 source…the sound still cuts out. It’s worst when I select “play all” speakers/devices.
