Can’t install OS from bootable drive onto new SSD

I’ve just installed a brand new SSD on my Core 2 Duo and every time i try to install snow leopard from a bootable drive or cd, the computer crashes about halfway through. Is the computer just toast? I’ve verified and formatted the drive so I don’t think it’s any problem with the SSD.

First, please tell us the exact SSD you got.

Have you verified the validity of the bootable drive (where did this install disk come from. Are you using a retail version of your DVD install disk or a machine specific grey disk?
