Can I use a surface pro 4 screen replacement on my surface pro 3

My surface pro 3 screen is broken and I was wondering if I could replace the screen with a surface pro 4 screen? are the Pro’s and Con’s on this?

thank you

As far as I know it is not compatible as they are using different cables for the LCD and touch screen, one uses a touch screen daughter board behind the screen and the other does not.

I’ve replaced a few screens on both models and I would not risk it to try a different model screen on either.

Thank you, that makes sense.

Nope. I tried that. The screen size is the same. It fits, but the resolution and flex cables which go to the board are completely different.
