Why will my green light not stay on?

The green light comes on when the tv is turned on and off for about ten minutes and then disappears. I have tried turning up volumes on tv, plugging and unplugging. I have plugged it directly into the wall outlet instead of the power strip. Removed the batteries and unplugged for 15 minutes. Nothing works. Any other suggestions, please! Thank you.
