I have nothing in download but in my storage it says I have 578mb in d

I have nothing in my download file but when I look in my storage it says downloads 578 MB. So I click on it and there is nothing there! I can't update my device because I have no memory. I have a SD card mounted. And only 3 aps on my phone.
