Enclosure for iPod classic hard drive

Power source for iPod Photo 4th Gen (60gbs) died. I tried replacing battery but no joy.

Is there an enclosure or adapter o can use to transfer songs off the drive and then format as either a portable hard drive or as additional storage on a Mac Pro?

James C.

It may be the hard drive which has failed. If so your out of luck. You can still get some use out of it with this cheap fix

Thank you for your reply and attached solution. I was assured by the guy that diagnosed my iPod that the drive was fine, it is just the power module is defunct.

Regards,

James
