In 2012, Sony Entertainment announced that the company would be releasing a new version of its 2006 Playstation 3 console. The new console is called the Playstation 3 Super Slim and is identified by the model number, CECH-4000. The PlayStation 3 Super Slim (CECH400x) is the third version of the PS3 video game console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was released October 25, 2012.
Hello, I am needing help on fixing on my ps3 super slim. I'm trying to play a game on it and it spins then stops about three times, and it won't show the disc icon with the name of the game. Can anyone help me with this situation??
Mine plays cd’s and dvd’s but doesn’t play or ID any of the Game disc’s?. It’s like it starts to spin up and actually Read the Game disc and then fails to relay or read the
When a disc is loaded, the system attempts to read the TOC (table of contents) of the disc. This is the spinning that you hear. If the TOC is not readable, the spinning stops. This will be attempted 3 times (sometimes more). In your case, the disc is not readable. This can be as simple as dirt on the DVD lens or a failure of the laser itself. If you can gain access to the drive, try cleaning the lens (carefully) using a cotton swab and alcohol. This may resolve the problem. If not, then replace the drive.
You can get the laser assembly for around $15 and the entire drive for around $40.
the game im getting issues with is Driver San Francisco where everything is fine until i try and load the mission where i prove to jones that i can "shift" as i get to the loading screen where within 90 seconds the disc will completley stop spinning
I find a well deserved threat or slight WACK with a fist or small footed person helped. Other option is to place it firmly against a wall from 6 foot away. Then put it in a bin. Sorted
Ok so I had this same problem but I was able to fix it ok,so I know you might hear/see this a lot on the Internet as a solution "cleaning or replacing the laser",now for the PS3 super slim you are able to clean the laser without having to dismantle the entire thing just open up where the disc goes and you'll see two little glass circles, get a cotton tipped applicators non-sterile aka qtip and just gently rub it against those two glass circles and around it and that should fix it,it did for me but also make sure that your disc has no scratches and is also clean i hope this helps.
