New screen not working

My ipad 2 suddenly stopped coming on. That is to say that the screen wouldn't power on or respond to the home button being pressed. When plugged into the computer, the device is recognised and if I didn't have a screen lock I'd be able to transfer data.

It was my thinking that the screen was broken and so I purchased a replacement screen for £20. It has a very sturdy and easy to fit cable, so I don't think I made any mistaked here, but the screen still does not come on.

Could this be a problem with the chipset, or perhaps by sheer bad luck did I buy a faulty replacement screen?

It could be the screen you buy, but a long time ago I had that problem with the same device, and it was the chipset, try to clean the main board with some isopropyl alcohol, but i don´t think that´s going to help you
