Alternate Replacement screws for VESA Mount Kit

Like many others, I've heard a few sparse stories about the issue of the mount Torx screws breaking without being able to validate it myself. I've successfully mounted then dismounted that kit once, and need to remount it in the close future.

I'm trying to find some high-quality replacement parts for these screws to avoid any potential issues-does anybody know what to order as replacement for these screws?

Or maybe I'm just overreacting…

So that everybody knows, the screws that fit the iMac Pro Vesa mount are Metric 2.5 x 8mm

Does that literally mean something like https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B012TE3LDM would work? Any considerations about needing the head to be low profile or similar? I'm buying an iMac Pro and want to avoid using the provided screws if they have the locking "glue" on them.

Or alternatively, if anyone has specific recommendations on a screw I can buy from iFixit or elsewhere, that would be great. I don't know if "steel" is good enough, or if a specific steel is needed for the iMac Pro's weight.

Did it fit Brian? Do you have a recommendation?

The older 2011 27” iMac VESA kit has stainless steel screws. I’ve not had any problem with the 20 or so mounts we used.

The newer iMac Pro VESA kit is using cheap soft steel screws! Don’t use them!!

Take one of the screws and the bracket to your local hardware store that sells screws you should be able to find a stainless replacement for a few dollars.

Still waiting for Apple to address the screw failure nothing posted on the support page as of yet, and my local Apple store still has them on the shelf with the original screws.

I was in the same situation Snazzy Labs was in, the screwheads broke off when I was turning them to mount my iMac Pro. Unacceptable by my terms.
