Can I change the signal cable?

I had water enter my phone. I followed the water damage repair guide given here to clean the inside with Isopropyl alcohol. My screen was damaged, so I replaced that. But after assembly, I found that the phone recognizes the presence of SIM card but can't find a network. Can I replace something to rectify that?
